Volunteer Update:
YouthCare has a wide range of volunteer experiences with a variety of time commitments and involvement. No matter which volunteer experience you choose, you will be helping to make a positive change, one life at a time.

Meal Providers
*Perfect for groups!
Providing meals to homeless youth at the Orion Center is an important step toward creating trusting and caring relationships with the teens who come to YouthCare for help. Lunch and dinner are served Monday through Friday. Groups bring food to the Orion Center (enough for approximately 25 youth) and help serve the meal. Volunteer Program for Shelter
Breakfast: Weekends 8-10am
Prepare nutritious breakfast meal for shelter residents. Volunteers may use provided shelter food, or bring in ingredients or meals. Engage residents in preparation and cooking. Work with residents to wash dishes and clean the kitchen.
Dinner: Daily 4-7pm
Prepare a nutritious dinner meal for shelter residents. Volunteers may use provided shelter food, or bring in ingredients or meals. Engage residents in preparation and cooking. Work with residents to wash dishes and clean the kitchen.
Life skills group: Days & Times vary for approximately one hour
Engage residents in a life skills group. The life skills group will need to be discussed with program manager prior to teaching the group. Examples of groups: laundry, budgeting, resumes, setting up a bank account, arts and crafts, teaching a skill
General Milieu: All Days, Various Shifts: 10-4pm, 5-10pm (Can be flexible with times)
Work with Youth Counselors to carry out daily activities and schedule. Engage residents in conversations and productive activities. Help prepare meals. Accompany residents and staff on outings. Be a positive role model for residents
