YouthTech

YouthCare's YouthTech program

By the end of Week One, participants in YouthTech have learned how to take apart a desktop computer. Over the following weeks, they will refurbish computers for local nonprofits such as FareStart and Solid Ground. They'll discover career options through field trips to Microsoft and Boeing. Upon completion of this intensive 14-week program, they will have Cisco certification and the basic skills needed for an IT career.

YouthTech is a college-level course and many participants go on to continue their education at local colleges. With their own computer: in the final week, trainees put the computer from Week One back together for the last time, and take it home.

YouthCare’s YouthTech program is made possible in part through a generous grant from The Boeing Company. Additional support comes from Inome.
