The Tile Project
Many of the young people in the Tile Project are still on or have only recently left the streets. They've just begun the process of gaining stability.
While enrolled in the Tile Project's pre-employment program, they work with case managers to find stable housing and access needed services. They earn minimum wage as they create art, get used to following instructions and procedures, receive further training in resume writing and life skills, and gain confidence.
Participants give back by allowing YouthCare to sell some of their most beautiful mosaic pieces. Proceeds from those available for purchase directly support this program.
The Tile Project is part of the Working Zone consortium, and receives funding from the City of Seattle and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
