CRITERIA TO ATTEND THE ORION CENTER
Youth must be between the ages of 13-22, in need of services and/or homeless.

Drop-in Services
Drop-in services are often the first link to connecting with YouthCare’s other services. The Drop-in Center offers three meals daily, showers, laundry, and clothing, food and hygiene banks. The Orion Center is a low-barrier facility where any youth in need can come for emergency services.

Medical Needs
YouthCare provides medical counseling and clinic referrals. Two evenings every week, the YouthCare Street Outreach Team transports street youth for preventative health care to two primary care clinics specifically serving homeless youth.

Case Management
Case Managers support youth with their life changes by providing assessment, referrals and life skills counseling. Case Managers help youth attain housing, enroll in school, obtain medical care and connect with other community services.

Drug and Alcohol Counseling
Case Managers provide appropriate counseling and referrals for mental health and substance abuse issues.

Street Outreach
YouthCare’s Street Outreach Team travels by foot or van to provide youth currently living on the streets with food, medical attention, information and connections to community services. Learn More >>

Employment Training
YouthCare offers a pre-employment training program through the YWCA’s Working Zone and employment training through the Youth Barista Training and Education Program and through Youth Tech. Learn More >>

Services

“When I started the Barista Training Employment Program I was living on the streets and getting by day to day. Now I’m working full time, have my own apartment, and I even opened a bank account. The Barista Program helped me to see that I can get where I want to go with my life.”
