Unrestricted Giving
All donations go into our unrestricted fund, which allows us to access funds where they’re needed the most. This includes all the basics from paying the electric bill so we can keep the lights and computers on to feeding kids in our programs to making sure our outreach van goes out on the streets to get them off the streets. Your support is paramount to our success in achieving our vision to end youth homeless – build better futures.
Fiscal Responsibility
YouthCare strives to stretch every dollar as far as it can go. One way we achieve this is by forming partnerships whenever we can. For example, the Barista Training and Education Program is run at no cost for training through donations from businesses and individuals. Youth in our transitional housing programs receive birthday cakes baked and decorated by the kind folks at Free Cakes for Kids at no cost to YouthCare. Donations of goods and services are wonderful, but we will grovel for cash.
The Value of Giving
Here are some examples of what your generous contributions can do for vulnerable youth:
- $10,000 supplies bus tokens for every client to access medical services, job interviews, school, mental health services, and chemical dependency treatment for one year
- $5,000 allows participation in YouthCare’s Barista Training and Education Program for one homeless youth
- $3,000 funds 30 hot meals for homeless youth served at YouthCare’s Orion Center
- $1,000 funds one week of YouthCare’s food budget for all transitional living programs
- $500 pays the salary of one youth participating in YouthCare’s 9-week pre-employment training program, The Working Zone Tile Project
- $250 supplies food for a whole house for one week
- $100 provides school supplies for one youth
