Group Volunteer Opportunities

It was certainly eye-opening to see the long line of people waiting for food [at the Orion Center], but good to know we could help take care of that basic need for at least one night.” – Laura, meal group volunteer

Families, friends, neighbors, coworkers, church groups, even book clubs have all joined together to lend a hand. It's a great bonding experience and a huge help to YouthCare and the homeless youth we serve!

Interested in volunteering? Here's what we typically look for in a volunteer:

  • Willingness to support our community's homeless youth
  • 16+ years old - volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present
  • Ability to be self-driven and motivated

Meals at the Orion Center don't just help youth on the street keep body and soul together: they're key to our staying in touch with them, building trust, and providing services. Lunch and dinner are served Monday through Friday. Groups prepare and serve meals for about 60 youth for each meal. Read more

In order to do that, we depend on deep cleaning and/or yard work by volunteer groups. Read more
