YouthCare is excited to announce the opening of new housing for homeless youth in the University District!

YouthCare will manage University Commons in The Marion West, twenty units of permanent supportive housing for homeless young adults. The Marion West will also be the new home of the University District Food Bank and twenty-nine units of housing for low-wage workers. This occasion heralds YouthCare’s first expansion in housing for young adults in nearly two decades.

We are proud to partner with the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) and build on our long history of providing young people experiencing homelessness with the housing and wraparound services necessary to gain safety, build stability, and work towards their full potential.

For youth who have been living outside or moving from place to place for months or years, home is a safe and stable point. As the ground settles beneath them, they can work on their goals and dreams – school, work, art, sobriety, healthy relationships, and so much more.

YouthCare is excited to add supportive housing and expand our services in this vibrant neighborhood. In addition to University Commons, YouthCare operates two transitional living programs and the University District Youth Center in the University District, as well as many other programs throughout Seattle and King County.

We will bring you more information soon, including how you can help youth build independence at University Commons at The Marion West.
